With the college football season getting underway, so too does basketball recruiting begin to heat up. With visits planned around the gridiron games, many of the Midwest’s top talents will be traveling the country this week. Minnesota kicks things off with a huge recruiting week, hosting many of the state’s top talents. 

2017 power forward Manny Patterson has set official visits to Green Bay (Sept. 16) and Bowling Green (Sept. 23).

Minnesota is slated to host 2017 point guard McKinley Wright on an official visit beginning Thursday.

The Gophers are also expected to host 2020 shooting guard Jalen Suggs, 2018 power forward Race Thompson, and 2019 forward Matthew Hurt on Thursday as well.

Louisville is the latest to offer 2018 point guard Courtney Ramey. The Cardinals join Marquette, Ohio State, Florida, Texas, Purdue, Illinois, Cincinnati, Texas A&M, Iowa State, and others.

2018 F/C Daniel Oturu added an offer from Baylor. The Bears join Georgia Tech, Providence, Minnesota, Memphis, Creighton, and Northern Iowa.

2017 power forward Theo John wrapped up an official visit to California. He’ll head to Marquette (Sept. 1) and Minnesota (Sept. 9). 

2017 power forward Christian Negron has set official visits to Oregon State (Sept. 17) and DePaul (Sept. 30). 

2017 small forward Kyle Young committed to Butler following his official visit. 

2017 point guard Nojel Eastern took his official visit to Purdue. He’s expected to take an official visit to Michigan State later this month.

2018 shooting guard Tyler Herro visited Marquette. He’s slated to check out Michigan on Sept. 17. 

2018 wing Talen Horton-Tucker will visit Michigan State on Saturday and Missouri on Sept. 10. 

The annual NY2LA Sports Futures Camp will hit the hardwood again this fall on Saturday October 22, 2016.  The proving grounds for up and coming high school prospects has become synonymous with high caliber talent and breakout performances.  It is open to boys 2018, 2019, and 2020 prospects.

A one day camp held in Waukegan, Illinois, the Futures Camp has seen the emergence of new names and development of highly regarded prospects since its inception with past camp MVP’s including Cliff Alexander (Portland Trailblazers), Kevon Looney (Golden State Warriors), Deonte Burton (Iowa State), Jimmy Whitt (Arkansas then SMU), Nolan Narain (San Diego State), Jeremiah Tilmon (Illinois), etc.  

The camp is a one day exposure camp that will feature skill work and full length game play with all camp participants receiving lunch, a customized reversible jersey, t-shirt, socks, towel, etc.  Largely regarded as one of the premiere fall camps in the country, the 2016 NY2LA Sports Futures Camp is already confirmed to host some highly regarded prospects with regional and national recruiting services in the building.
