Class of 2019 guard Drew Lutz has flown under the radar but that might not be the case for much longer.  After leading the NY2LA association in scoring over the first two sessions he earned himself a spot on the 2018 First Team of the NY2LA Basketball Association this past spring.

Lutz is almost automatic from downtown and if defenders leave him any space he will not hesitate to let it fly. The 2019 prospect has a very high basketball IQ and seems to almost always make the right play. His coach and teammates trust him with the ball in his hands and he has proven all spring that he is not afraid of the moment.

“I feel like I’m a good at decision making and making my teammates better. Also my outside shot is a big part of my game as well as creating my shot,” Lutz said.

Lutz has earned three division 2 offers from Truman State, Bethel College, and Saint Francis. The 2019 guard also has strong interest from Florida Southern, Grand Valley State University, Hillsdale, and Davenport.

As far as division 1 interest Lutz is hearing from Lipscomb and Ball State.

“My experience has been great. I like how organized the whole set up is. Also it’s been very competitive with a lot of coaches and opportunities for exposure,” Lutz stated about his experience playing in the NY2LA Basketball Association.

He plays with the MBA Select program during the grassroots travel season.
