Once again, this week there were plenty of players elevating their stock at the Grassroots Showdown. Here are the players from the 15U level that were able to boost their stock the most with their play over the two days.

Noah Blocker – REACH Legends – G
Blocker is a strong 6’2” that can score the ball in bunches. He did the majority of his scoring with his perimeter shooting. In one game the guard hit multiple threes both off the dribble as well as spotting up. He has a good ability to create his own shot and shoots it so well off the dribble. Can also play big to score around the basket and rebounded well for a guard.

Antwan Burns-Jones – JH1 Elite – G
Versatile guard who impressed the most attacking the basket to score and distribute the ball. He has good moves off the dribble with a quick first step to beat his man often. Burns-Jones has a good passing ability while driving. On the defensive end, he did a good job forcing turnovers and turning them into transition baskets.

Maliq Crawford – Cream City Chosen – G
Unselfish guard that impressed on both sides of the basketball. Takes whatever the defense gave him and scored it off the dribble as well as with his jumper. He is very quick to the basket to get there often and finish the ball. Crawford played great pressure defense as part of his team’s constant press as well as in the half court. He gets all over defenders without getting beat or fouling.

Brody Hartig – Wisconsin Swing Litscher – G
Hartig did a terrific job of scoring on his drives. Was relentless attacking the basket hard with some good moves and just found ways to get to there often. He’s not the biggest, but has a great motor. Was also able to hit a couple of threes to put up some big numbers.

Gavyn Hurley – Wisconsin Swing Bresden – G
Hurley is a talented guard with some size at 6’3” that played well on and off the ball. When off the ball Hurley spaces the floor, and is a confident three-point shooter. With the basketball in his hands, he has good moves attacking the basket. He gets inside to score as well as does a good job of driving to distribute. Has a good motor to rebound well and added some blocks too.

Mason Marggi – Wisconsin Dynasty Kraus – G
The guard did a good job scoring the basketball. Did the bulk of his scoring with attacking the basket in the paint as well as in the mid-range. Showed a good jumper off the dribble as he is able to quickly rise up and hit his shots. Was also able to get into the paint a fair amount even while dealing with constant ball pressure.

Alex Sippy – World Hoops Elite – G
Another member of the deep 15U World Hoops Elite team that has caught out attention. Talented all-around guard that does a number of things to contribute. Very unselfish player that has good scoring ability and takes advantage of his opportunities when he has them. Good scorer with the ball who attacks the basket and can also hit shots off the dribble from the mid-range and three. Possibly made his biggest impact on the opposite end with tough perimeter defense.

Matthew Thistle – Chapman Academy McCabe – G
The 5’10” guard showed off one of the better-looking jumpers from three in the entire tournament. Hit his shots well outside when he has any space and can knock them down a few steps beyond the arc. As well can play with the ball in his hands and distribute it with good vision.

Cameron Werner – Wisconsin RAP – F
Werner is a lengthy 6’6” forward that impressed in multiple games during the tournament. He scored it very well around the basket at efficiently posting up and on put backs. He showed off nice soft touch scoring around the paint. On the other end, he proved to be a natural shot blocker getting them in bunches.

Prentice Young Jr. – TH 2023 – G
Unselfish point guard that showed a good ability to both score and distribute the basketball. At his best off the dribble attacking the defense. Gets by his man often and does a good job either finding the open man or rising up quickly to hit his shots in the mid-range. Maneuvers around defenders incredibly well with tight handle plus Young changes direction so quickly. Also spotted up from three to hit a couple shots.
