League play continued on Saturday during the first April Live period in Dallas Texas at the 2018 NY2LA Lone Star Invitational with great games going in the NY2LA Basketball Association. Here is a recap of some of the standouts from a loaded Saturday.
DJ Carton – Quad City Elite 2019 PG
DJ Carton has arrived. Already holding over 15 HM offers the Iowa point guard was spectacular in a tough loss to Ray Allen Select. One of the more physical point guards in America Carton has a great feel and makes everyone around him better. He paced Quad City with 24 points and 8 assists.
Avery Rembao – Colorado Chaos 2019 SG
The long wing from Colorado was outstanding in both games on Saturday. Rembao attacked off the bounce and played with a motor. Showing improved range on his shot this big guard should be on Division 1 schools radar the rest of the Spring and Summer eval periods.
Nate Ferguson – Chicago Lockdown 2019 F
Ferguson was active on the glass and slashing to the rim on Saturday for the Chicago Lockdown 17U squad. He showed the ability to shoot the three and looks to be a stretch 4 many colleges covet in the 2019 class.
Marcus Domask –Ray Allen Select 2019 G/F
Domask is arguably the top player in the class of 2019 out of Wisconsin. Production is never an issue with this versatile wing. He was relentless attacking the rim offensively while leading his RAS squad to an overtime win over Quad City Elite. Scoring and rebounding at high clip multiple Mid Major schools were front row for his Saturday night effort.
Andre White –All In Athletics Braverman 2019 G
White was playing at a high level in both games on Saturday. Quick off the bounce he was in attack mode all day. His mid-range game was working and if he has that working White can be a difference maker running his AIA team.
Landon Wolfe – Illinois Irish 2019 G/F
Wolfe continued his strong play for the Illinois Irish. Showing off an improved mid-range game Wolfe was active on the high post. His ability to guard both on the wing and the block makes him an intriguing prospect going forward.
Mitch Mascari – Mercury Elite Thomas 2019 G
Mascari is a flat out shooter. The guard has range and a quick release. He had multiple 3’s in both games on Saturday and has proved to be one of the best shooters on the NY2LA circuit this spring.
Jalen Thomas – Reach Legends 2019 F
Thomas continues to ascend as one of the best big men in the Midwest. He shows great footwork and patience in the post. Always a presence on the boards, Thomas has improved his motor and raised his game this spring. He was a big reason why Reach was able to post 2 wins on Saturday.
Ace Evans –Wisconsin Shooters 2019 G
One of the most athletic wings on the NY2LA circuit Evans was fantastic on Saturday. Finishing above the rim and showing improved handles Evans scored in bunches for the shooters. He continues to raise his game and looks to be one of the better guards in the NY2LA association.
