Class of 2020 guard Anthony Washington of Madison East had a breakout Spring and was a solid stock booster in the Badger state. Washington put up solid numbers all spring long playing with the WI Swing 16u team in the NY2LA Basketball Association. The 6-3 guard has heard from multiple division 1 schools and is looking to gain some attention from more during the next NCAA live sessions.
“I feel my spring has gone really good,” Washington said. “I do a good job of finding open teammates, getting to the basket, and I have been shooting well”
A multi-dimensional guard, Washington handles the ball and he uses solid athleticism to score off the bounce, in transition, and going past defenders in half court sets. Add to the mix a decent jumper with range that extends to multiple levels and it’s to see why Washington has slowly started to blossom onto Division 1 radars.
Washington’s recruitment has started to pick up and he is hearing from a number of division 1 programs including Colorado State, UW Green-Bay, and Marquette. The rising 2020 prospect plans on attending UW Green-Bay’s elite camp. Still developing, Washington is one of the late blooming talents in the 2020 class and he’s one to keep a close eye on over the next 12 months as he continues to develop and grow his game.
