MEQUON, Wis. – Saturday at the NY2LASports Spring Extravaganza was full of great games and some very impressive individual performances that had the gym buzzing.  Guys played their way into offers and some teams started to separate themselves as the NY2LA Association had every team in action. Here are just a few standouts.

NOTE: PLAYERS NOT LISTED IN ANY ORDER

PJ Edwards – 2020 – G – Illinois Irish Select
Edwards was lights out on Saturday following up a 22 point effort in the opener Friday with a 27 point outburst and then a 19 point game.  If Edwards is going to shoot the ball the way he has this weekend I expect college coaches to make the guard a priority during July.  Scoring in transition and beyond the arc he has been one of the most consistent players at the Spring Extravaganza.

Daron Hall – 2020 -PG – Breakaway Basketball
Hall was the catalyst for Breakaway Basketball in a win Saturday night.  He ran the team, got out on the break and still found his spots to be aggressive.  The Glenbard East point guard has impressed me with his pace and outside shot.  With his finishing ability at the rim he is one to watch this spring and summer.

Jaylyn Kelley – 2020 - PG –WI Surge Elite
Kelley was fantastic on Saturday for the WI Surge Elite team knocking down with a 32 point effort.  He was creative off the bounce and hunted shots.  Showing a consistent outside shot Kelley made six 3’s and showed he can be a very good scoring lead guard.

Max Klesmit –2020 – G – WI Blizzard Kuranda
Klesmit was dynamite dropping 23 points in a victory Saturday over Team Focus.  The guard from Neenah had multiple college coaches watching his game from the baseline and it was easy to see why.  Playing a smart floor game and picking his spots Klesmit used his size to shoot over defenders and got out in transition.   He is one to watch and with efforts like Saturday I expect his recruitment to pick up.

Shilo Bowles – 2020 – F – WI RAP
Long and athletic Bowles does a little bit of everything for WI Rap.  Playing with highly regarded Gerald Gittens and 2021 Brandin Podziemski, Bowles is a rim runner who excels in transition.  He was active in both games I watched Saturday which was a carryover from his impressive performance on Friday.  With his athleticism and motor Bowles will be a player to watch this summer.

Baylor Hebb – 2020 – G – 3D EMPIRE
When you drop 48 points in a 30 minute game and do it in an efficient manner there isn’t much that needs to be said.   Hebb’s 16-25 effort was one of the best I have seen in the NY2LA association in 4 years covering it.   He was 7-11 from deep and after scoring 19 in the 1st half turned it on to finish with 48.  The guard from Texas had 3 offers coming into the Spring Extravaganza and picked up an offer from Ohio University after his performance.  The gym was buzzing during and after his performance.  Hebb’s recruitment is poised to soar.

Anyiabany Makoi – 2020 –PG – Carroll GOL1VE
Makoi was impressive running the show and showing an all-around game while dropping 34 points on Saturday night.   He’s got a great frame, good skillset and his motor was on full display as he grabbed boards and led the break for the Carroll GOL1VE squad making their debut on the NY2LA Association. Now a 2020 Prospect Makoi should be on college coaches must watch list.
