Throughout the spring, the play at the 15U field has continuously been at a high level and the NY2LA Sports Invitational was no different. Here are the players that stood out the most over the weekend.

Mike Bowen – 2024 – G – Pride Roc
One of the tougher and high motor players in the 15U group. The wing guard was all over the floor getting plenty done for his team. Bowen contributed the most attacking the basket and finishing in traffic but also defended multiple positions well, hit the glass hard on both ends, can play with the ball, and more.

Randy Clay Jr. – 2024 – G – All In Athletics
Clay is a poised point guard that is a good quick decision maker with the ball in his hands. He pushes the ball well and really stood out with his passing ability. Clay continued to make plenty of pinpoint passes to set up his teammates for good looks at the basket.

Jace Gilbert – 2024 – F/C – WI RAP
The 6’5” post had one of the bigger performances at the event with a monstrous 31 point and 21 rebound game over the weekend. He continues to play with a big motor this spring just purely outworking the opposition on both ends to make plays. On all shots, Gilbert goes to work to fight for each missed shot. He scored it in multiple ways to put up big numbers but did the bulk of it inside battling through contact.

Thad Hoffman – 2024 – G – Cream City Chosen
A tough wing guard who was scoring the ball extremely well. He did the most of his damage going hard to the basket where he is a strong finisher through plenty of contact. Though he also got it done from beyond the arc hitting shots both off the catch and dribble.

Kon Knueppel – 2024 – G – Phenom University
Knueppel closed out his tremendous spring with another big weekend leading 15U Phenom University to one more title with an efficient 14 points in the championship game. The freshman is such a skilled shot maker from all over with his smooth jumper but also plays well with the ball in his hands. One of the most impressive 2024 players this spring.

Josh Leslie – 2024 – F – ABC Young Lions
An extremely active wing forward that is able to do so much on the floor. Leslie plays well on the defensive end with his motor forcing turnovers, hitting the glass, and is tough to get by. The freshman has a nice stroke shooting it well spotting up from three but was also able to score it going to the basket.

Juwan Ramsey – 2024 – G – The High
A skilled guard who both scored and distributed the ball at a high rate. He plays well off the dribble attacking the defense with his nice moves and handle. Ramsey has a very good ability to distribute the ball on the move with great vision and his decision-making ability. He also did a good job finishing around the paint off his drives.

Frederick Rogers – 2024 – F – The High
A powerful forward that was a big force on the floor, especially in the offensive paint. He scored the ball on an extremely high percentage of his paint touches finishing strongly right through defenders often. Rogers could not be stopped once he got the ball near the paint. He also plays with very good energy in the defensive end working hard to deter drivers and contests shots.

Andre Staple – 2024 – G – Cream City
The guard is very tough to defend off the dribble. With his quickness in addition to his handle and moves with the ball, he proved to be very tough to stay in front of to be getting all over the floor with the ball. Staple gets plenty of paint touches to set up his teammates in addition to scoring from there.

Gavin Van Wie – 2024 – G – WI Swing
Van Wie has continued to show this spring that he is one of the top shooters around in the 2024 class. He has such a pure jumper spotting up from three and always displays a nice shot selection. He can also play with the ball in his hands, plus he really works on the defensive end.
