The 14U level on the GNBA has impressed the entire spring and there were many more who took their game to another level for the championships. There are some players amongst the group that have bright futures on the hardwood if they continue to progress their game. Here are the main standouts from the tournament.
Tyree Brister – 2026 – PG – MidPro Academy South
One of the more skilled and effective point guards at the tournament. As well to being strong with the ball in his hands he has great quickness to often get into the paint. He contributed most with his distributing ability making plenty of great passes on the move. Brister is also a tough active pressure defender with good hands.
Charlie Dunham – 2026 – PG – MTXE Premier
The highly impressive guard was one of the more skilled scorers at the 14U level with multiple standout games. Dunham shoots it extremely well off the dribble in addition to his ability to run the point. He moves well with the ball creating separation and needs such little room to rise up and hit his shots. As well to having an 18-point game, he also led a furious comeback helping his team overcome a twenty-point deficient to capture the gold championship.
Yusuf Gray – 2026 – SG – Phenom University
While the talented wing guard has impressed all spring, he took his game to another level this tournament. At a young age he already has a great blend of skills and physical tools. He is incredibly tough to defend attacking the basket with not only his moves with the ball but also the ability to fight through contact. He is also a good decision maker with the ball driving with a purpose and seeing the floor.
Henry Gruetzmacher – 2026 – F/C – RAS
Gruetzmacher is a big man who excels in his role. Already standing at 6’5” with a strong build he plays tough down in the post. He has a good ability to score while posting up, finishing everything with good touch over either shoulder. While at his best in the post he also shot it well in the mid-range and is effective in pick and rolls. While still not even in high school, he shows advanced ability for a young big man.
Derrick Jackson – 2026 – PG – Yung Bullz
Jackson was such an instrumental piece of this dominant Yung Bullz squad. They ran through the platinum bracket on their way to a championship. He has great length in the backcourt and plays so well on both ends. With his length, quickness, and athleticism he is an incredibly tough defender shutting down opposing guards game after game. He plays well off the dribble with his ability to score in the paint and mid-range but also create for his teammates.
Jake Veley – 2026 – G/F – 24Up
An incredibly impactful and versatile player that was a big reason for his teams impressive run to the platinum title game. He has some size at 6’3” and just outworks the opposition to contribute in numerous ways in every one of his games. In 24Up playoff run, Veley was at his best scoring 21 points in the quarterfinals and then followed that up with a 13-point game in the semifinals. He is a good interior defender with his toughness but has good offensive skills scoring it going to the basket.
Amar’e Witham – 2026 – PG – Yanders Law
One of the more skilled point guards of the entire tournament who can do much on the floor. He is strong with the ball in his hands getting into the paint often where he can really distribute the ball with good vision and a great passing ability. More than just a distributor however, he shoots the ball well spotting up from the outside and is a tough on ball defender.
Bilal Yusuf – 2026 – SG – Martin Brothers
A multi-dimensional player with great tools at a young age. He has some size and length and plays well on both sides of the ball. An incredibly tough matchup as he can hit shots off the dribble with range, attack the basket, and finish inside. A highly versatile defender who can match up with both guards and forwards with all his tools.
