Lot of impressive showings today at the Generation Next Tip-Off. Even while featuring a younger group of players at the 11U-14U levels, there was plenty of talent on hand at Milwaukee Lutheran High School. Here are a few of today’s standouts.
Sam Church – 2027 – PF/C – Team Iowa Elite
In both of his teams wins today, Church was a force in the paint. He is the definition of a big man that just outworks and outmuscles the opposition. One of the top rebounders of the tournament that goes after each one so aggressively. He scored it very strong around the basket finishing everything inside through contact but also hit some jumpers and showed the ability to get to the bucket off the dribble.
Jaxson Davis – 2027 – G – Illinois Central Elite
No surprise to anyone who has seen Davis play at all, but he was dominant in all three of his games. His game is just on another level in so many different facets. In all three games today, he scored it very effectively, never scoring less than 27. He is at his best getting to the bucket and finishing but can score it from all three levels. Much more that a scorer however, he came up big with his defense, forcing steals in bunches and distributing too. Very few middle schoolers with his skill level, feel, and intensity on the floor.
Dakota Jackson – 2029 – F – M14
Even at the 12U level, Jackson was one of the more impressive players of the tournament today. The forward has a nice blend of size, length, and skill to make a big impact all over the court. A skilled scorer who is so effective attacking the basket but is also a stat stuffer with rebounds, steals, and assists. Few players contributed as much to their team as he did today.
Max Jones – 2027 – F – Reagan Jr. Huskies
While still a year out from high school, there is a lot to like from his play today. He has some size at 6’3” and good strength in addition to plenty of skills. An unguardable player at this age level as not only can he score it strong inside posting up but excels attacking the basket off the dribble. Jones also has a high all-around skill level and was simply taking games over today to help his team reach the 14U quarterfinals so far.
Reece Jordan Jr. – 2027 – SG – NESYB
While there were several from this talented NESYB that impressed today, Jordan was a standout over the course of multiple games. His game has continued to grow with his ability to not only be a knockdown shooter from the outside but play so well off the dribble. Jordan moves very well with the ball attacking and was often getting into the paint and making plays.
