From the 13U divisions of the Generation Next Tip-Off there were plenty of players of note making a name for themselves. Here are several that put together great weekends for themselves.
Jack Berndt – 2028 – F – Man Up
One of the more versatile and impactful forwards at the 13U level. Not only is Berndt a skilled scorer but did a lot more. He has some size but also moves well out on the floor. He finished it well around the paint scoring it very well going to the bucket on drives and cuts.
Jarvae Bradley – 2028 – G/F – Hoopademix
Bradley is a highly versatile player contributing so much to his team to win games. He has some strength and plays with a big motor. Bradley scored it strong down in the paint but can also handle the ball and create. He also was able to defend anyone effectively as well was big on the boards.
Darrin Laye – 2028 – PG – Hoopademix
Laye is a skilled and aggressive point guard that was a standout on both ends. He scored the ball effectively throughout the tournament but also really looks to get his teammates involved and utilize his great passing ability. Laye was at his best playing on the attack with his handle and vision but also knocked down some shots from deep. Defensively, he a very tough on ball defender constantly making opposing guards work and struggle to get into their offense.
Josiah Lindsey – 2028 – G/F – Legacy All-Stars
Lindsey contributed a lot for his team on both ends. The wing was one the better shooters of the tournament with a smooth jumper spotting up from deep and hit some tough contested jumpers. He plays with some intensity on the defensive side and can match up with nearly anyone on the floor.
Ryan Morgan – 2028 – F/C – Man Up
Along with his brother John, he formed a tough and impactful post duo for Man Up. With his size, strength, and energy, Morgan can be a force inside but also has some skills to his game. He scored it very efficiently down in the paint, showing some strong post moves but also the ability to put the ball on the floor as well to making some nice passes.
Carter Steele – 2028 – G – LVL Elite
Steele had a big game on day one of the tournament and continued to play well from there. The guard is a knockdown shooter spotting up from the outside but can also make plays off the dribble. He showcased a pure stroke hit his jumpers at a high percentage but would fly by defenders when overplayed to put up his points.
Jared Van Donselaar – 2028 – F/C – Kessel Heat
One of the more intriguing players at the 13U level standing at over six feet plus having tremendous length. Much more than just his size, he has some good big man skills with a developing perimeter game too. He scored it effectively in the paint, getting it done even through double teams but also passes it well out of the post. He was also one of the top rebounders grabbing everything right over the top or running them down and is aggressive inside on the defensive end.
