While still a few years out from high school, there was plenty of talent amongst the 12U group. In addition to the all-tournament selections, he are several players that stood out and were big for their team.
Bentley Fowlkes – 2029 – F – Wisconsin Lutheran
The forward has good strength and a nice motor to go along with his skills. He was a big piece of the Wisconsin Lutheran team that made it all the way to the 12U championship game. While he can play the role of a big man patrolling the paint defensively, rebounding, and scoring inside, he can do much more. Fowlkes is also a skilled scorer who moves well with the ball attacking the paint and can also spot up and hit the three.
Jack Hearn – 2029 – PG – North Side Ballaz
A true playmaking point guard that was scoring it in bunches. What he may lack in size, he more than made up for with his lightning quickness and high skill level. Even while scoring it so well getting to the basket and knocking down threes at a high rate, Hearn was smart with the ball in his hands. He reads the floor and not forcing anything while playing under control.
Ryan Iacob – 2029 – G/F – M14 Hoops
The guard/forward was one of the highest energy players of the entire tournament, if not the most energetic. He really battles on the floor to be an incredibly impactful player and was contributing so much for his team. Every rebound he was chasing down, getting after loose ball, finishing strong inside and playing aggressive lockdown defense.
Caleb Sands – 2029 – C – Illinois Attack
At 6’2” at the 12U level, Sands towered over the competition. He is a rangy big man with good length that is a true paint protector blocking shots in bunches. Sands has a good motor and was very aggressive attacking the glass battling for each board. Offensively he scored it strong around the paint and has the ability to put the ball on the floor.
Joell Toney – 2029 – PG – NESYB
One of the top playmaking point guards at the 12U level who was constantly getting into the paint creating for himself and teammates. He had tight handle and maneuvers incredibly well around defenders. Not only did Toney score it well from all over but is also a skilled distributor on the attack. While Toney did much of his scoring driving inside, he also pulled up in the mid-range and can spot up from deep.
Jacoby Vance – 2029 – F – NESYB
Vance is a strong and versatile forward. On the defensive side he is a very big and tough prescience deterring any drivers and grabbing any board near him. On the offensive side, he scored it on a high percentage of his paint touches but can also play out on the perimeter and handle the basketball.
