With all the talent at the Spring Extravaganza, one article was just not enough for the top performers. Here’s the next group of players that came to play in Indianapolis.
Kavien Jones – 2024 – SF – Team Mookie
Throughout the tournament Jones was all over the court making plays to help Team Mookie go 3-1 on the weekend up against some tough competition. He stands at 6’6” with a solid build and an extremely high motor. A very tough defender who can match up with multiple positions and is also stuff the box score. He scored 15 points in an opening night one point win hitting three threes but was also one of the better rebounders and shot blockers.
Kyle Jorgensen – 2024 – F/C – MN Comets Elite
On Friday, Jorgensen looked a solid big man with good upside with his size at 6’9” and emerging skills. Then on Sunday, he showed me that the upside is already there when he had 28 points. There is just so much more to him than his size. For a player with his height and solid build he showed some good agility, handles the ball well getting to the basket, and can spot up from three, all in addition to his tough interior play. He was a big reason the Comets has themselves an undefeated weekend knocking off some very good teams.
Jaxon Olvera – 2023 – G – Team Temple
Olvera was one of the top guards of the tournament helping Team Temple to an undefeated weekend at 4-0. He has the look of a scholarship player with his high-level scoring ability, size in the backcourt at 6’5”, athleticism, and defensive energy. He has a great stroke and can create his own shot and was scoring it from all three levels.
Azavier Robinson – 2025 – George Hill All Indy
With his elite play, Robinson continues to be mentioned in these top player articles. He had a tremendous performance at the Swish N’ Dish Tournament but possibly played even better this past weekend. While not the biggest of guards at 6’1”, Robinson has special traits that should make him a highly desirable 2025 recruit. On Friday, his defensive play was just on another level forcing turnover after turnover but also scored it very effectively all weekend, including a 25-point game on Friday.
Nathaniel Savage – 2024 – PG – AFO Michigan Mustangs
While there were plenty of big-name players with scholarship offers, it was more of an under the radar player in Savage that had possibly the best game of the tournament. In his first game of the tournament on Friday, Savage was just unstoppable going for 36 points. He plays well in space being able to create his own shot hitting six threes with great range but just as effective with his great moves and burst beating defenders and finishing at a high rate. If his scoring wasn’t good enough, he also showed a good passing ability and defends the ball well.
Jake Stephens – 2024 – G – DV45
In my first time getting to see Stephens play, he more than impressed with a 32-point outburst. A well-rounded guard that really knows how to play. The junior was always finding ways to score battling his way into the paint, he has some strength but plays even stronger playing through contact. As well he hit some shots off the dribble and showed off his passing and vision.
Tiernan Stynes – 2024 – G/F – Recruiting Boost Australia
Stynes is a lengthy 6’6” wing who is a high-level scorer. He scored it well all weekend including a 27-point game. He excels attacking the basket with his long strides and finishing above the rim but is just as good as a shot maker from the outside hitting five threes in one of his game. A high IQ and impactful player with all his tools that should be a popular target for coaches this upcoming weekend in Louisville.
Brandon Tilley – 2024 – SF – Wisconsin Swing
Tilley had a strong junior season and now an even better start to his spring season with the Swing. He shot the ball well during the Swish N’ Dish tournament and did so once again this tournament even better. This included a 27-point game against a very good George Hill All Indy team but also showed a good ability on the defensive end moving well defending the ball.
Maxsamus Wilson – 2023 – G – Gain Elite
Wilson was one of several unsigned seniors that impressed over the course of the weekend and should have plenty of eyes on them. He had a few good games but makes this list for his play on opening day where he really displayed his shot making ability hitting five threes in the game. He is strong with the ball in his hands and was hitting tough contested shots off the dribble. He also has some size in the backcourt at 6’4”, moves well with the ball in his hands, and is a skilled passer.
