There was a long list of players standing out at the Spring Extravaganza this past weekend at the 16U level. Here are a few other intriguing players that had themselves big weekends of play.
TJ James – 2025 – PG – Reach Legends
James is a smart point guard who excels in his role. When he has the ball in his hands, he is a dynamic distributor who drives with his quickness to distribute. Off the ball, he hunts for his shots, quickly get into his shot off the catch, and hits them at a high percentage.
Micah Meiss – 2025 – G – MidPro Academy
The sophomore is a skilled guard with positional size at 6’4” and knows how to play who had a good weekend following his breakout high school season. He has great form on his jumper knocking down threes, can handle the ball and make plays of the dribble, and is a skilled passer. Meiss has a very well-rounded game and feel for his age.
Rashad Rogers – 2025 – PF – Team Haliburton
Rogers was one of the better interior defenders at the 2025 level of the Spring Extravaganza. He stands at 6’7” with good length and agility and plays with great energy shutting down the paint contesting and altering any shots near him. While he was blocking shots in bunches, Rogers also moves well enough to switch out onto the perimeter.
Yamill Rondon – 2025 – PG – Moss Elite
The point guard scored the ball consistently throughout the tournament including a 19-point game but also showcased his distributing ability. He has a nice array of point guard skills with his vision, feel, and passing on the attack but can also knock down threes at a high percentage and score on the attack.
Raken Vargas – 2025 – PG – Team Temple
The floor general behind this undefeated Team Temple squad. He is a skilled point guard who is strong with the ball in his hands, sees the floor well, and is quick with the ball. He is at his best getting into the defense and distributing the basketball but can also shoot it at a high percentage from the outside.
Luke Westerdale – 2025 – G – The Academy
The guard picked up right where he did last season proving he is one of the top 2025 scorers on NY2LA Association. His offensive skill set is extremely high, and he just knows how to go and get a bucket when needed. Westerdale has such a great ability to create for himself. He can create separation effectively with his shifty moves and hits shots off the dribble but also finishes well for his size all around the paint in traffic.
