From the 13U divisions of the Generation Next Invitational there were plenty of players of note making a name for themselves. Here are several that put together great weekends for themselves.
Myshawn Dawson – 2028 – SF – 94 Feet Elite
A highly versatile player with upside. The wing forward already stands at 6’1” with some strength and plays with good energy. On the defensive side, he plays hard on every possession and defends well on the perimeter and in the paint as well to rebounding it effectively. He runs the floor hard scoring it in transition, finishes it strong around the basket, and can also make plays off the dribble.
Andrey Markov – 2028 – SG – All In
While the wing guard may not stand out for any one thing, he knows how to play and does a lot of little things to make a very big impact on the court. His biggest impact came on the defensive end playing with great intensity. Whether it was shutting down opposing ball handlers, chasing around shooters, or face guarding a high scoring guard, Markov filled the role. On the other end, he is a crafty scorer getting it done on the attack getting into the paint or pulling up in the mid-range.
Braylon McNiece – 2028 – F – Focus Premier
One of the better big men of the 2028 level. He has good size and strength but still moves well to be a highly impactful player on both ends. A real standout on the defensive side playing with good intensity who can shut down the inside blocking and altering plenty of shots. He is a strong interior scorer on the other end getting it done on put backs, rolls, and dump offs.
Ronan Novales – 2028 – F – Chapman Basketball Academy
As well to having some size and good length, Novales is a well-rounded forward. For a young forward with some size, Novales moves well. He did the bulk of his scoring around the paint with good touch and using his length effectively, but also was a standout with his defensive play. With all his tools he is a versatile defender who matches up well with both guards and forwards.
Tommy Potts – 2028 – G – M14 Hoops
Potts is a skilled scorer, especially with his shooting ability to have himself a 20-point performance on Saturday. Whether it be off the catch or dribble, Potts has a pure jumper and was hitting threes at a very high percentage, including a very deep half time buzzer beater three, to be one of the better shooters of the tournament.
George Pozharsky – 2028 – F – All In
Pozharsky is a lengthy wing forward with good versatility, especially on the offensive side of the ball. He was very effective scoring the ball around the basket doing so over bigger defenders with soft touch but also hit some shots from the outside and pulling up in the mid-range. He came up big in the final seconds of a game Saturday with a tough rebound that sealed a win.
Taylor Williamson – 2028 – PG – Geek Squad
A lighting quick guard that was constantly getting into the paint and making plays. Not only quick, but he changes his speeds and has great burst of quickness blowing by defenders. A skilled scorer on the attack getting all the way to the basket and finishing over defenders but also looks to distribute and can hit outside shots.
Michael Wilson – 2028 – SG – Region Force
Wilson is a lengthy wing guard with good versatility and makes a big impact in a variety of ways. He made his biggest impact with his spot up shooting from the outside with a smooth jumper but did so much more. He is a versatile and active defender, scored it attacking the basket, and is an aggressive rebounder.
