The 2023 edition of the GNBA Championships started in a big way. While only five rounds of games tonight, there was still plenty of exciting games in Waukegan.

Jackson Albee – 2027 – PG – Pro Lane

While he had a good first half, Albee turned his game up a level in the second half leading Pro Lane to an impressive victory. While he is a skilled point guard who can create well for his teammates, it is his scoring that puts him onto this list as he finished with 21-points. A tough shot maker who can create for himself from the outside but also finished it well in this one playing on the attack.

Jayce Cook – 2027 – G – 24Up

Cook, along with Max Jones, led 24Up to a dominant victory to start off the tournament. The skilled and high IQ guard put up 21 points in the win. He did much of his scoring from the outside hitting five three pointers. When he has a good look at the basket, he was rarely missing from the outside but is also a talented all-around guard who plays well with the ball in his hands.

Jacob Duffin – 2028 – SF – Peoria Pride

In tonight’s dominant victory for the Peoria Pride, Duffin was the definition of a two-way wing. With his length, size, and athleticism, Duffin was a real difference maker in the win with his pressure defense. Constantly getting all over the ball and disrupting the opposing offense. On the offensive end, he played very well on the attack finishing all around the paint in a 19-point game.

Sam Guethle – 2027 – G/F – Team Ramey

While Ramey saw themselves down ten in the second half, Guethle led a big comeback down the stretch in helping Team Ramey capture an overtime comeback win. He scored fifteen points doing the bulk of his damage from the outside. He has a pure jump shot hitting his threes at a high percentage but also made some plays off the dribble. Colton Broadwater also is worthy of mentioning who hit a deep buzzer beating three to send the game to overtime.

Hayden Schroeder – 2027 – SF – M14 Hoops

The big performances keep on coming for the talented young forward as he started the tournament off with a 21-point performance. He has a great array of tools with his skill set, size, energy, and more to be a highly versatile scorer that can be unstoppable at times. On Friday he exceled attacking the basket and on put backs aggressively going after each board and finishing everything.
